Andreas Pereira ‘set to snub PSG and stay at Manchester United’

Andreas Pereira will reportedly sign a new contract at Manchester United, ending PSG’s hopes of signing the youngster.

19-year-old Pereira is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer, having previously turned down a new deal, and had offers from PSG, Juventus, Feyenoord and PSV.

But it is widely expected that he will now extend his stay with the Red Devils.

Pereira is regarded as a huge talent and one that United are desperate to keep hold of, with the Old Trafford club hoping that there wouldn’t be a repeat of the saga involving Paul Pogba, who left the Premier League outfit at 19 to join Juventus after refusing to sign a new contract.

Frenchman Pogba was unhappy at the lack of first-team football at Old Trafford, which is why he opted to join the Serie A giants – a club in which he has thrived during the last three years.

But it now appears that United won’t suffer the same fate with Pereira, who has revealed that he wants to stay in England, although he does admit that he wants to make the step up to the first team.

In an interview with MUTV the Brazilian said: "I can play attacking midfield, or on the left or right wing. I think these are my best positions.

"I know I can get a chance [in the first team] and I want another chance and the next step."
