Mengapa Najib sampai hilang sabar

Orang politik sementelah menjauhkan diri kerana bimbang dilabel 'orang bekas MB'. Bukan tidak faham cara politik orang kita!

Kedah

Bangkitlah sekalian Adun yang pro Osman dikepalai Speaker Dun, Datuk Zainol Md Isa (Allahyarham) menentang keputusan Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir (sekarang Tun).

Sekarang lihatlah apa kesannya!

Rio Ferdinand to leave Manchester United

Former England defender Rio Ferdinand will leave Manchester United after the Old Trafford club did not offer the central defender a new contract.

Ferdinand, 35, played in United's final Premier League game of the season in a 1-1 draw at Southampton.

He made over 400 appearances over 12 years at Old Trafford, and apparently intends to continue playing next season despite being linked with a possible role as a TV pundit.

He leaves the club having six Premier League titles, the 2008 Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, two League Cups and five Community Shields.

"I have thought long and hard over the last few months about my future and, after 12 fantastic years playing for what I regard as the best club in the world, I have decided the time is right for me to move on," said Ferdinand.

"I joined Manchester United in the hope of winning trophies, and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how successful we would be during my time here.

"There have been so many highlights, playing alongside some great players who have become good friends, winning my first Premier League title and also that fantastic night in Moscow are memories that I will cherish forever."

Ferdinand joins fellow defender Nemanja Vidic in departing Old Trafford, with the Serb heading for Inter Milan this summer. As a result United will have to enter the transfer market for at least one new centre-half to compete with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans.

"Circumstances didn't allow for me to say goodbye the way I would have liked but I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my team-mates, staff, the club and the fans for an unbelievable 12 years that I'll never forget. Winning trophies I dreamed about as a kid came true at this great club," Ferdinand added.

"I am feeling fit and healthy, ready for a new challenge and looking forward to whatever the future holds for me."

Ferdinand was born in South London and came through the youth ranks at West Ham.

A ball-playing centre-back with strong positional awareness, he soon earned England honours before making an £18 million move to Leeds United in 2001, aged 22.

He went on to play two seasons at Leeds before joining Manchester United for a British transfer record £30m, which was also the second-biggest fee for a defender worldwide.

While immensely successful at Old Trafford, his spell in Manchester was not without controversy: he served an eight-month ban for missing a drugs test in 2003, and was ruled out of Euro 2004 as a result.

He was also fined £45,000 by the FA for retweeting a comment calling Chelsea defender Ashley Cole a 'choc ice' during the fall-out of John Terry's racial insult towards his brother, QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

However, Ferdinand - who grew up on one of Europe's toughest estates - has pumped money into his 'Live the Dream Foundation', a development programme aimed at helping young people out of poverty, and has managed a succession of business and media ventures in fashion, music and television.

His vow to continue playing will place clubs on alert both home and abroad, although - unusually for a big-name player - there have not been transfer rumours surrounding his future and it is unclear what his next steps will be.

Early Doors: ‘F*** France!’ – Girlfriend lashes out at Nasri snub

(Picture from anaragram on Instagram)

Samir Nasri’s exclusion from France’s World Cup squad certainly made waves on both sides of the English channel after he helped Manchester City to win both the Premier League and League Cup.

But no one took it worse than his girlfriend, Anara, who reacted to Tuesday night’s news by embarking on a foul-mouthed rant on Twitter.

Anara let loose at both the French national team and manager Didier Deschamps as she showed her disgust at the fact her boyfriend would not be on the plane to Brazil.

Nasri resisted the temptation to do likewise, saying: "I think the die is cast. I respect (Didier Deschamps') choice. I'll watch the World Cup on TV. If starting games in a club like Manchester City and winning two titles isn't enough, too bad, I won't regret anything."

Deschamps explained his decision by saying Nasri would not cope well with being a substitute at the World Cup.

"He is a starter at City, which is not the case with France and he has made clear that he is not happy when he is not (a starter), and I can tell you it can be felt in the squad," said the coach. "I built the best squad, I did not pick the 23 best French players."

However, Nasri's other half was clearly not satisfied with the explanation put forward by Deschamps.

Still, at least Nasri himself was remaining slightly more level-headed.

Justin Bieber disiasat polis atas dakwaan mencuri telefon bimbit

Three astronauts land back on Earth in Soyuz capsule

MOSCOW: Three astronauts, including a Russian and an American, touched down safely on Earth Wednesday aboard a Soyuz capsule, the first such landing since Russia's relationship with the West slumped amid the Ukraine crisis.

The returning crew consisted of Japan's Koichi Wakata, who was the first ever Japanese commander of an ISS space mission, as well as NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin.

They landed safely at 0159 GMT in the Kazakh steppes after spending more than half a year aboard the orbiting International Space Station.

The landing was the first since Russia's relationship with the West hit its lowest point in decades over the annexation of Ukraine's Crimea peninsula by Moscow in mid-March and its involvement in the ensuing Ukraine crisis.

NASA in April announced that it was cutting space cooperation with Russia over Moscow's Ukraine policies, but that work at the space station would not be affected. - AFP

A month before the start of the prestigious international soccer tournament, FIFA has released information on the show that will kick things off in Sao Paulo on June 12.

Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte and Brazilian band Olodum will perform the official anthem of the World Cup, "We Are One," at the end of the ceremony.

Naturally, the opening ceremony will pay homage to the host country of the 2014 World Cup. The show will take place at 3:15pm local time at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Belgian artistic director Daphné Cornez is the coordinator of the spectacle.

The 25-minute performance will take place around a glowing spherical centerpiece symbolizing a soccer ball.

Acrobatic gymnasts, trampolinists, capoeira performers and stilt walkers will all take part in the event to kick off the festivities.

The opening game of the tournament, in which Brazil will face off against Croatia, will take place around two hours later in the same stadium, so the performers will be taking special care not to damage the pitch.

151 dead in Turkey mine blast, hundreds trapped

SOMA: At least 151 people have been killed and hundreds more remain trapped underground after an explosion and fire in a coal mine in western Turkey, the energy minister said Wednesday.

A total of 787 mineworkers were trapped at the time of the explosion on Tuesday and "we have evacuated 363 people (including the 151 dead) so far," said Energy Minister Taner Yildiz

He said it was likely the death toll would rise further.

"Time isn't in our favour," he warned, adding that of those recovered 76 people were injured, including one seriously.

Earlier, Cengiz Ergun, the mayor of the province of Manisa where the mine is located, put the toll at 157 dead.

Rescue workers were trying desperately to reach the scores of trapped miners and had managed to evacuate around 50, a security source told AFP.

The source said there were pockets in the mine, one of which was open so rescuers were able to reach the workers, but the second was blocked with workers trapped inside.
The explosion was believed to have been triggered by a faulty electrical transformer at around 1230 GMT.

Hundreds of people gathered around the explosion site as rescuers brought out injured workers, who were having difficulty breathing and coughing due to the dust.

Sena Isbiler, a mother of one of the miners, stood on top of piles of wood, craning her neck to see who was being led out of the mine.

"I have been waiting for my son since early afternoon," she told AFP.

"I haven't heard anything about him yet."

Fire officials were trying to pump clean air into the mine shaft for those who remained trapped some two kilometres (one mile) below the surface and four kilometres from the entrance.

Late in the evening injured people were still emerging from the collapsed mine -- some walking, others being carried by rescue workers while being given oxygen.

Nearby, security officers tried to keep ambulance routes clear to ensure aid could reach the victims. The mining company Soma Komur issued a statement calling the mine collapse a "tragic accident".

"Unfortunately, some of our workers have lost their lives in this tragic accident," the statement said.

"The accident happened despite maximum safety measures and inspections, but we have been able to take prompt action," it added.

'No security'

Turkey's ministry of labour and social security said the mine was last inspected on March 17 and was found to be compliant with safety regulations.

But Oktay Berrin, a miner, said workers were not protected underground.

"There is no security in this mine," he told AFP.

"The unions are just puppets and our management only cares about money."

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's office said he would arrive in Soma on Wednesday after cancelling a trip to Albania.

Speaking in Ankara, the leader expressed his "heartfelt condolences" to the families of those who died.

"Some of the workers have been rescued and I hope we will be able to rescue the others," Erdogan said.

Energy Minister Yildiz told journalists in Soma that a team of 400 people where involved in the rescue effort and that the main cause of the deaths was carbon monoxide and dioxide poisoning.

"Time isn't working in our favour. We need to get them out. We could be in a troubled situation," he said, adding rescuers would work through the night.

The miners are all thought to have gas masks, but it was not clear how long they would last.

Vedat Didari, a professor of mining, told AFP that the biggest risk was the lack of oxygen.

"If the ceiling fans are not working, the workers could die within an hour," said Didari, from the Bulent Ecevit University in the city of Zonguldak.

Explosions and cave-ins are common in Turkey, particularly in private mines where safety regulations are often flouted.

Turkey's worst mining accident happened in 1992 when 263 workers were killed in a gas explosion in a mine in Zonguldak.

Soma is one of the key centres for lignite coal mining in Turkey, a district with a population of around 100,000 where the mines and a lignite-fired thermal power plant are the main economic activity. -- AFP

Giant pandas to arrive in Malaysia soon

BEIJING: A pair of giant pandas from China will soon arrive in Malaysia as a symbolic gesture to enhance understanding and friendship between the two countries, China's Xinhua news agency reported Tuesday.

As special envoys and symbol of friendship, the pandas -- Feng Yi (Phoenix) and Fu Wa (Lucky) would play an important role in further strengthening bilateral ties and developing all-round cooperation between the two countries, the state-run news agency quoted its ambassador to Malaysia Huang Huikang as saying.

Huang was also reported to have spoken highly of Malaysia’s efforts in welcoming the pandas, saying: “Right now, all is ready except the most crucial part. Let's wish a happy life for the pandas after their arrival in Malaysia.”

The two giant pandas were originally scheduled to arrive in Malaysia on April 16.

The sending-off ceremony was postponed by the Chinese government due to pre-occupation with the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 aircraft whose flight path ended in the middle of the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysia's Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri G. Palanivel had said earlier.

Malaysia and China had signed an agreement on June 15, 2012 whereby the two giant pandas would be loaned to Malaysia for a period of 10 years.

The agreement was to mark the 40th anniversary diplomatic ties between the two countries in 2014.

The arrangement came about following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's s request to former Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during his official visit to Nanning in 2012.

Malaysia would do everything to cooperate with China to ensure the health of the two pandas, and a grand welcoming ceremony would be held for their arrival, Xinhua quoted the director of Kuala Lumpur National Zoo Muhammad Danial Felix as saying.

Two Chinese experts would be dispatched to Malaysia to stay with the pandas for at least three months, he added.

Feng Yi (female) and Fu Wa (male) will be renamed after their arrival. The naming competition organised by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has attracted more than 2,000 entries.

An enclosure costing RM25 million has been completed at the zoo after construction started on April 11 last year.

The 6,475 square meters enclosure encompassing three main areas will be kept at under 24°C, the same temperature as their original habitat.

Other facilities in the complex include a laboratory, veterinary clinic, incubator room, nursery and monitoring room.

Adun Bukit Besi tarik balik surat keluar Umno

Terengganu

- Bernama
