Olivier Giroud breaks down West Ham's resistance in easy Arsenal win

Emirates Stadium, Premier League - Arsenal (Giroud 45+1’ Ramsey 81’ Flamini 84’) West Ham

Arsenal beat West Ham 3-0 at the Emirates after Olivier Giroud broke the deadlock just before the end of the first half.

Adrian had kept Arsenal at bay with a succession of fine stops against the home side, with Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil all going close. Kevin Nolan brought a smart save from David Ospina with a volley from the edge of the box.

As the first half drew to a close, Giroud finished off a quick passing move between himelf, Walcott and Ramsey before drilling into the far corner.

In the second half, Arsenal invited West Ham to press them as they sat deep, and broke forward through Sanchez, Ozil and others. They were profligate though: at one point Ozil elected to cross when the chance to shoot was obvious and easy.

Ramsey sealed victory with some sharp passing into the box with Giroud gave him room to fire inside the near post.
