MH370: PDRM denies reports on investigations into Uyghur passenger

KUALA LUMPUR:  The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) denied reports that they are focusing its investigation on a 35-year old passenger of Uyghur descent.

Federal CID director Comm Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah said he had not given any statement regarding the investigation pertaining to the missing MH370.

“The investigation is confidential and it is still ongoing. The police will divulge latest development in the case at the right time," he said in a statement Thursday.

Any media reports which quoted him as confirming on the case was false, he said in response to a Berita Harian report on Thursday quoting him as saying that police are focusing on Chinese national due to this ethnicity and background.

MH370, a code share flight with China Southern Airlines, left KLIA for Beijing at 12:41am Saturday morning.

All communication with the plane was lost at 1:30am and no distress signal or call was received.

The flight had registered 239 passengers, 38 of them Malaysian. It was scheduled to arrive at Beijing International Airport at 6:30am
