KUALA LUMPUR: PKR deputy president, Azmin Ali is reminded not to be arrogant because his position as the Selangor Menteri Besar is in jeopardy if PAS insists of ending its cooperation with DAP, a political ally in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) pact.

Cheras Umno Division Chief, Datuk Seri Syed Ali Alhabshee said PAS now has the power to shape the Selangor state government administration if the party decides to severe its ties with DAP.

"Now the fate of Azmin is at the hands of PAS, whether he falls or vice versa. Therefore I remind him not to be arrogant," he said in a recent post on his blog http://umnobahagiancheras.blogspot.com.

Syed Ali said, if PAS joins UMNO, especially in Selangor, Azmin will no longer be the Menteri Besar of the state.

"This is not impossible, as it may happen any time, but in my opinion, PAS should leave PR," he said.

Syed Ali, however, clarified that it was up to PAS to determine Azmin’s fate, whether for him to remain as Menteri Besar or otherwise.

He added that there were also reports that efforts are being taken by PKR and DAP to persuade PAS not to sever ties with DAP in effort to save the future of PR.

“PR does not have a future and PAS must prove to the people that the party still has its dignity.

“I’ve said this before... for the sake of the new leadership, PAS should sever ties with DAP, which clearly opposes the proposed implementation of the hudud laws,” he said.

Azmin had today said that the future of the coalition is determined by PAS and DAP, especially in Selangor.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is currently serving his jail time at the Sungai Buloh prison expressed concern if the PAS-DAP dispute continues, PR will be destroyed, especially in Selangor.
