JAILANI: The screening of the special programme is the outcome of discussions between the ministry and broadcasting stations RTM, TV3 and Astro.
LANGKAWI: Special slots showing the government's efforts in searching for the Malaysia Airlines plane, Flight MH370, since almost a year ago, will be broadcast on local television channels starting this Friday.
Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister, Datuk Jailani Johari said the screening of the special programme was the outcome of discussions between the ministry and broadcasting stations RTM, TV3 and Astro.
"The documentary on the search for the missing aircraft could give an accurate picture of the government's role in the search mission," he told reporters after visiting the 1Malaysia Internet Centre (PI1M) in Padang Lalang, Ayer Hangat, here.
Jailani, who is also chairman of the Communications and Media Relations Committee on the MH370 incident, said the slots involved talks and the documentary on the search efforts for the missing plane since March 8, last year.
"With March 8 (the first anniversary of the MH370 incident) approaching, there will probably be still a lot of speculation on the unfortunate incident, but the government is committed to the continued search for the missing aircraft," he said.
Flight MH370 with 239 passengers and crew disappeared from radar screens en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur, about one hour after departing from the KL International Airport on March 8, last year.
It was scheduled to arrive in Beijing at 6.30am the same day.
On Jan 29, the government declared the loss of MH370 as an accident under international flight rules and all the passengers and crew were considered to have perished.
