Corpse of man with stab wounds found near cemetery


Police believed the man was killed at another place and the body disposed near the cemetery.


BUKIT MERTAJAM:  The corpse of a man with slash marks on his neck and stab wounds on the body was found near the Muslim cemetery in Jalan Permatang Nibong here last night.

The fully clad corpse was found lying down by members of the public, who passed the area at about 8 pm.

"No personal identification documents was found and police believed the man was a foreigner because there was no BCG jab mark on his arm," said a police spokesman.

Police believed the man was killed at another place and the body disposed near the cemetery.

Meanwhile Penang Crime Investigation Department chief SAC Mazlan Kesah, when contacted, confirmed the incident and said the man had a tatoo on his chest.

The body had been sent to the Bukit Mertajam Hospital for post-mortem while members of the public, who had information relating to the incident or had missing family members or friends, were asked to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigation, he said.
