Manchester United want Kane.....
Manchester United are set to make a hard run at Harry Kane, according to The Manchester Evening News. Ed Woodward wants to bring Kane to Old Trafford, believing he's an excellent player, but also one whose arrival would boost the executive vice-chairman's status.
Landing Kane would be a feather in Woodward's hat, especially because he'd have to negotiate with Daniel Levy to do it, and he's willing to pay over £50 million to get the striker.
Paper Round's view -
Tottenham have no interest in selling Kane, but can they stop United? Levy hates to sell players to Premier League rivals, as we saw when he sent Luka Modric to Real Madrid for less money than Chelsea offered, but United did manage to sign Dimitar Berbatov using their power.
United better be willing to pay potentially in excess of £60m if they want Kane. That seems unlikely to happen, no matter how much Woodward's ego wants it, but with the money United have and their desire to land a top young striker it's not entirely out of the question.
