KUALA LUMPUR: New applicants for 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) can made from Dec 1 while existing recipients have to update their personal information to ensure payment.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said new applications and updates can be done via the BR1M Inland Revenue Board official portal at https//: ebr1m.hasil.gov.my until Dec 31.

It can also be made filling and returning the BR1M 2015 application forms (BK-01) to IRB branches/revenue service centres/Urban Transformation Centres (UTC) or district offices.

"Accurate information on bank accounts is needed as BR1M applicants will be paid three times a year and pay death benefits to heirs of applicants and the elderly," he said in a statement today.

In addition, to facilitate the existing recipients, the government will send the update form to their home address from Nov 24.

Applicants or recipients who have questions may call the 1800-88-2716(IRB) or 03-8882 4565/4566 (Ministry of Finance) and br1m@treasury.gov.my email.

Payment will be made three times a year to recipients under the household category while for individuals with income of RM2,000 and below, RM350 will be given from Jan 28, 2015.

For households earning monthly income of RM3,000 and below, aid of RM950 will be paid starting with RM300 on Jan 28, RM300 (May 28) and RM350 (Sept 28).

For households earning RM3,001 to RM4,000, aid of RM750 will be paid starting with RM200 (Jan 28), RM200 (May 28) and RM350 (Sept 28).
