Louis van Gaal set for Manchester United job

Louis van Gaal is set to succeed the sacked David Moyes as Manchester United manager after the World Cup finals in Brazil.

According to media reports emanating from the Netherlands in the De Telegraaf newspaper on Sunday, Van Gaal will be unveiled at Old Trafford after the Dutch national side's campaign in South America ends.

United have yet to confirm a deal with Van Gaal has been agreed, but did not deny that the former Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach is on his way to the Premier League.

Van Gaal's contract with the Netherlands expires after the World Cup.

"We have not signed a new manager," United said in a statement.

"When we have something to report, we will announce it."

Ryan Giggs has been installed as caretaker manager until the end of the season, and watched United enjoy a 4-0 win over Norwich on Saturday in the Premier League.
