KUALA LUMPUR: An object that resembles an aircraft life raft bearing the word “Boarding” was found by fishermen in Port Dickson at 12pm yesterday.
The report by Berita Harian online said that the object was found by the fishermen whilst fishing and was reported to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in Kuala Linggi, Melaka.
One of the fishermen, Azman Mohamad, 40, said they found the badly damaged raft floating and immediately MMEA for assistance to lift the raft as it was very heavy.
"We managed to tie it to our boat as we feared it would sink due to the damages," he said.
He adds that he thinks that the life raft might be an indication on where the mysterious missing MH370 would be.
The fishermen then proceeded to hand over the raft into MMEA custody.
However, BH also reported that a Kuala Linggi MMEA spokesman said the raft sunk into the sea while they were trying to bring the raft onboard.
