Jakarta hit by flash floods

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Authority has forecast that the rainy weather in Jakarta would end mid-Februrary. 

JAKARTA: Heavy rain overnight caused several areas around Jakarta to be hit by flash floods early today leading to severe traffic snarls heading into the city.

According to a MetroTV report, among the worst hit areas was North Jakarta including the elite housing area of Kelapa Gading. Tanjung Priuk, Cilincing, Plumpang Semper, Sunter, Rawa Binangun and Rawa
Badak Utara were also affected.

West Jakarta saw its main artery into the city Jalan S Parman hit while Kebayoran Lama in South Jakarta suffered the same fate.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Authority has forecast that the rainy weather in Jakarta would end mid-Februrary.
