Ancelotti: Di Maria wants to leave Real Madrid

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Argentina winger Angel Di Maria has asked to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

There has been persistent speculation throughout the summer linking Di Maria with a move away from the Spanish capital following Real's mega-money acquisitions of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos.

Reports suggested that Paris-Saint Germain and Manchester United are interested in securing the services of the Argentine, though no formal offer has yet been tabled.

However, it has now been revealed that the winger has made clear his intentions to leave the Champions League winners, with boss Ancelotti confirming the news.

The Italian announced: "(Sami) Khedira has one more year and has rejected a new deal. It is different than Di Maria as he has not asked to leave.

"Di Maria has asked to leave and rejected an offer from the club. [But] if he does not find a future solution he stays.

"The player has to look for a solution. If when the (transfer) market closes he's still here, he will work with us like last season and there will be no problem."
