Islamic State (IS) militants were reportedly issuing pamphlets which contain a full list of their prisoners for sale.

The pamphlet is also said to list specific prices for its captives who are usually sold as sex slaves. This was revealed by the United Nations (UN) special representative, Zainab Bangura, to Bloomberg.

According to Bangura, the pamphlets began to surface online in November 2014, but she managed to get a printed copy in Iraq last April.

"The girls get peddled like barrels of petrol. One girl can be sold and bought by five or six different men," Bangura was quoted in the Bloomberg report.

Children aged one to nine were frequently sold to IS fighters for about US$165 (RM650).

Based on the pamphlet, Bangura said prices will drop if the prisoner is older. Teenage girls can be sold at US$124 (RM485), while women aged 20 years and above are usually priced cheaper.

"They have a manual on how you treat these women. They have a bureau which organizes the sale of women," said Bangura, an activist from Sierra Leone.

Bangura said the leaders of the group would normally get the first pick before outsiders can bid for the remaining captives.

"Sometimes these fighters sell the girls back to their families for thousands of dollars of ransom," she added.
