SHAH ALAM: The husband of TV9 administration executive Nur Syaleza Jaffar was ordered by the High Court here Thursday to enter his defence on a charge of murdering the woman three years ago.
Judge Datuk Abdul Halim Aman made the decision after finding that the prosecution had succeeded in establishing a prima facie case.
A total of 24 witnesses testified during hearing of the case which began on Oct 16 last year.
Norazman Bashah was charged with murdering Nur Syaleza, 31, at their residence at Apartment Saujana, Jalan PJU 10/1C, Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya, between noon and 7.30 pm on July 28, 2012.
The former executive of an oil and gas company is charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
The prosecution was represented by deputy public prosecutors Rosidah Abu Bakar and T. Deepa Nair, while lawyers Muhammad Fadhli Sutris and Shah Rizal Abdul Manan represented the accused.
