KUALA LUMPUR: The city experienced massive traffic congestion following floods in six locations after a heavy downpour from 2pm, according to police.
Flood waters rose up to 0.4 metres at stretches of Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Chan Sow Lin and Jalan Duta as well as at Dataran Maybank in Bangsar, in front of the Jalan Travers police station and the Cheras roundabout, said a KL Traffic Police spokesman.
He said the flood waters began to recede from about 5.15pm, and the affected stretches of Jalan Duta and Jalan Sultan Ismail and the Cheras roundabout were reopened to traffic.
The flood waters were also receding in the other places, such as Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Dataran Maybank and in front of the Jalan Travers police station, he told Bernama.
