Google ranked No. 1 in super brands survey

Google has been ranked as Malaysian consumers' most favourite brand, according to the latest brand survey from Superbrands conducted by the research agency BDRC Asia Pte Ltd.

The online survey of 1,500 Malaysian consumers aged 18-55 years old identified over 650 of Malaysian consumers' favourite brands across across 109 consumer product ands service categories.

The respondents, weighted by age and gender to reflect the profile of Malaysia's adult internet population, were asked to identify their favourite brand in each of the 109 categories.

Among the top 10 favourite brands were 100 Plus, Double A, Air Asia, Ogawa, Gardenia, Energizer, Panasonic, Maggi and Meps.

Superbrands Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Mark Pointer said the fact that these brands have been voted by Malaysia's consumers as their favourite brand is testament to the recognition and standing that these brands have in the local market.

"Great brands such as the brands in the Superbrands top 10 list consistently deliver on this and that's why consumers identify with them and think of them as their favourite brands," he said.

In addition to identifying Malaysia's favourite brands, the survey also looked at Superbrands' awareness and consumers' perceptions in Malaysia, with the findings showing the logo is widely recognised, achieving an awareness level of 81 per cent.

Superbrands, which set foot in Malaysia in 2000, is an international brand marketing and promotional programme that celebrates the best and most valued brands in more than 80 countries around the world.
