Real Madrid will today discover the extent of the injury suffered by Gareth Bale amid concerns the Wales winger has broken a toe.
Bale was forced out of Tuesday’s training session, Marca reports, and won’t be involved against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti won’t risk Bale, it’s believed, with the Champions League double-header against Atletico Madrid on the horizon.
Mundo Deportivo adds that Madrid fear Bale has fractured his toe and, should that be the case, his season is effectively over - James Rodriguez went down with a similar problem in February and took two months to recover.

Bale's injury, it it's as serious as feared, could prove a blessing in disguise. The Welshman has been barracked mercilessly by fans for several months, with a recent poll in Spanish newspaper AS showing that 31 per cent of fans believe he is the most disposable member of Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI.
Bale and Ancelotti have both stood firm, and his recent match-winning brace against Levante last month as well as his devastating contribution to Real's 9-1 thrashing of Granada at the weekend will have been a huge tonic - despite those two matches sandwiching a poor showing during the defeat in the Clasico.
With James Rodriguez fit again, injury could actually save Bale from the ignominy of being dropped, put an end to the pressure from fans and media, and lessen the transfer rumours going around. And those three things, even more than a few good performances between now and the end of the season, might actually save Bale's Real Madrid career.
