Late Daley Blind equaliser rescues Manchester United at West Ham

Premier League, Boleyn Ground - West Ham United 1 (Kouyate 49') Manchester United 1 (Blind 90+2)

Daley Blind rescued a point for Manchester United as they stole a 1-1 draw against West Ham in stoppage time.

West Ham dominated the first half, closing down Manchester United across the pitch. With the exception of Marcos Rojo - who himself hardly excelled - United's defence could not find a consistent outlet in midfield or attack.

West Ham went closest, bringing good saves from David De Gea with Enner Valencia and James Tomkins going close.

In the second half, West Ham went into a deserved lead when Cheikhou Kouyate controlled a knockdown from a Mark Noble cross, teed himself up, and volleyed as he span towards goal.

West Ham started to drop deeper as the second half progressed, but defended resolutely. Radamel Falcao had a brilliant chance, with only Adrian to beat, but he sent his effort inexplicably wide.

For all the United pressure, West Ham continued to press and almost had two when Noble had a shot parried away by De Gea. With two minutes left, Daley Blind fired in a loose ball in the box, and with just seconds remaining, Luke Shaw saw to an even more dramatic ending with a second yellow.
