A FACTORY worker took a grave risk by jumping out of a moving car after realising that she was to be handed over to a prostitution syndicate, reported Harian Metro.
The woman, in her 20s, was found injured on the roadside near Taman Melawati near Kuala Lumpur by road users.
She said that she jumped out of the moving Proton Perdana after overhearing a conversation between her friend and the driver of the car that she was to be sold off to a pimp.
Speaking from her bed in Ampang Hospital, the woman claimed that her female friend, whom she befriended six months ago, had convinced her to quit her factory job to work in an office in the outskirts of the city that offered an attractive salary.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairuldin Saad confirmed that a report had been lodged and the case was being investigated.
