You will NEVER believe how much this drawing sold for...

An original cartoon from one of the most iconic scenes of Disney classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has sold for £35,000 almost 80 years after the film was released.

The reveal is one of the most iconic scenes in animation history

The hand-painted celluloid sheet - known as a cel - depicts the moment the Evil Queen transforms into the Old Hag to disguise herself from Snow White.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Disney's first ever feature film, and original scenes from it command huge prices.

The 27ins by 23ins cel is among the most sought-after from the 1937 movie.

It was snapped up for $48,000 - around £35,000 - by a private collector at Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas.

The drawing comes from Disney's first ever feature film

Jim Lentz, from Heritage, said: “This is a key scene from the movie. The Evil Queen has just taken a potion to disguise herself as an Old Hag as part of her plan to poison Snow White.

"Collectors zero in on key scenes and the Old Hag's reveal at the time was one of the most iconic scenes in animation - from Disney's very first feature animated feature film that started it all.

“This cell was used just before the witch drops her cloak and reveals how the magic potion revealed just how ugly she was inside. It is absolutely memorable and I'm not surprised it sold for such a high price.

“This hand-inked, hand-painted production cel is trimmed to the edges and placed on the matching hand-painted Key Master production background of the Evil Queen's magic laboratory.

“She measures a stooped-over seven inches tall in this amazing and critical scene.”
