Mohd Hadif Hadfi Mohd Nazim was home alone when the incident happened.
KUALA LUMPUR: In just two days, another boy was killed when he fell from the eighth floor of an apartment in Taman Nirwana, Ampang this morning.
Mohd Hadif Hadfi Mohd Nazim, five, who was home alone at his Ketapang Villa apartment, was believed to have climbed the balcony by stepping on a bicycle after opening the sliding door, according to his father Mohd Nazim Moin, 39.
Mohd Nazim said his youngest son was found dead from head injuries on the ground floor of the apartment by residents who informed his Indonesian housemaid who was then returning from a shop nearby.
The maid had left the boy alone at 8 am to go to the shop and at that time, the boy was said to be sleeping, he told Bernama at scene.
"It is a daily routine, my son wakes up at around 10am to 11am, but today he apparently woke up earlier than usual," he said.
Mohd Nazim, who works as an engineer in a private firm, rushed home after the maid informed his wife, Rafeah Mozalli, 39, of the incident at about 8.10am.
His wife, an administrator at private company, was attending a meeting at the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) office here when the incident occurred, he said.
He believed Mohd Hadif Hadfi was trying to find the maid after waking up by climbing the house balcony.
Mohd Nazim, who has two older children, aged 13 and 10 years, accepted the incident as fated.
"The body of my son was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem and was later buried at the Kampung Cheras Baru Muslim cemetery this evening," he said.
Mohd Nazim said the maid who has been working for the family for three years was very close with his three children.
Meanwhile, Ampang Jaya police chief, ACP Khairuldin Saad said police had received a report by Mohd Nazim on the incident this morning.
Police were now investigating the incident including questioning the 45-year-old maid as well as residents and traders in the housing area.
On Wednesday, Mohammad Hazriq Danish Alden, also five, died after falling six floors from a People's Housing Project flat in Section 8, Kota Damansara while leaning on a rotted iron corridor fence.
