Aston Villa v Manchester United preview: United on a high for visit of Villa

Team news, match facts, manager quotes, bookies' odds and fantasy pick for the Premier League game between Aston Villa and Manchester United at Villa Park.

TEAM NEWS

Aston Villa will be without three players through suspension: on-loan Tom Cleverley, who would not have been allowed to play against his parent club anyway, is banned alongside Alan Hutton and Kieran Richardson. Ashley Westwood (knee), Joe Cole (hamstring), Philippe Senderos (calf) and Nathan Baker (knee) are all injured, but captain Ron Vlaar and midfielder Fabian Delph are available after both returned from injury last weekend.

Angel Di Maria, who has not featured since United's 3-0 win over Hull City on Nov. 29 due to a hamstring injury, could return to the bench, and it is possible that Radamel Falcao might be named in the starting line-up. Midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been ruled out through illness.

MANAGER QUOTES

Paul Lambert: "Just because they've changed managers doesn't change my thinking of that football club. Chelsea and City have lost less games. But if United don't win it they will certainly have a big say in who does. If we win tomorrow it's good for us, that's the most important thing. We have to win for ourselves, it's got nothing to do with stopping United."

Louis van Gaal: "When you win six times in a row the confidence is rising, but I'm still looking for a game that is more close to the perfect game. For me, the performance is very important. When you perform well, you win more and that's what I want to show to the fans. The players want to show that. The guarantee of wins is much bigger when we perform better...They (Villa) haven't lost so much. They draw, they win, and when they lose it's always by a one-goal difference. It shall be very difficult."
