The bomb incident in is believed to be due to a love triangle.
KUALA LUMPUR: The bomb incident in Kampung Baru Subang, Sungai Buloh yesterday is believed to be due to a love triangle.
Sungai Buloh police chief, Supt Junaidi Bujang said police believed this was the case after questioning a former soldier, aged 50, following his arrest at the Pahlawan 2 Apartments in Taman Tun Perak here at 9pm yesterday.
He said the suspect was unhappy that his wife was seeing someone else, who is the cousin of the victim in the incident.
"The suspect accused the cousin of running away with his wife and police believe it was the cousin who was the target," he told Bernama today.
He added that police also seized two handphones and two cars, a Myvi and Honda Civic, from the suspect to assist investigations.
In the 6.45am incident yesterday, the victim, Chong May Lun, 40, had a close shave when a hand grenade placed under a rock with its safety pin removed went off as she drove her car over it on her way to her workplace from her home.
She was unhurt but the impact caused the rear fender of her Toyota Vios to come off and shrapnel had penetrated the boot and rear passenger seats.
