Crocodile vomits out human remains

CURIOUS: A curious crowd taking a close look at the human body vomited out by the crocodile in Sungai Seblak.

ROBAN: The riddle over a missing fisherman might be answered after part of a human body was recovered from Sungai Seblak around 9am yesterday.

Adrian Thomas, 32, was reported missing while checking a fishing net (belat) he had put up at the mouth of Sungai Budak not far from Lubuk Empelai near here last Friday.

According to a local resident, Mani Mangai, he saw a crocodile expelling the human body minus the head, both hands and legs from its mouth a few metres away from their boat, adding at first he and others with him thought it was plastic.

As they cautiously got closer to check, he narrated, they were shocked to discover that it was a part of a human body – from waist to shoulder – which they believe to be that of Adrian’s.

Mani was with three others including a shaman by the name of Indet Senabong, the victim’s father and longhouse headman Embol to check on the hook which they had placed in the river last Friday.

According to Indet, the location where they recovered the body was about 500 metres from where the victim was believed to have been attacked by the reptile.

He said locals call the place Teluk Berauh.

The body had been sent to Saratok Hospital for identification.
