Man claims trial to cheating company CEO over purchase of Ferrari car

PETALING JAYA: A lodging house employee pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court here, Tuesday to two charges of cheating the chief executive officer of a company over the purchase of a Ferrari 458 Italia car involving RM55,500 three years ago.

Sidhartha Ramon John, 36, is alleged to have cheated N. Ezilan, 48, by asking him to hand over a Public Bank cheque for RM5,500 as the processing fee for the car when it did not take place at Naza Italia Sdn Bhd at Lot 3, Jalan 51A/221, Petaling Jaya on Jan 5, 2011.

He was also charged with having cheated Ezilan by asking him to hand over a Public Bank cheque worth RM50,000 for the same purpose and at the same place on Jan 25, 2011.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Fatimah Yahya proposed bail of RM18,000 in one surety but Sidhartha, who was not represented, asked for the bail to be reduced.

Magistrate Mohd Nazri Omran set bail at RM14,000 in one surety and fixed April 28 for mention.
