An Indonesian woman leaped from the third floor of a building at Jalan Beserah here claiming she had been confined by her employer for the past three days.
The woman, known as Marry, 22, from Palembang, Indonesia sustained leg and hip injuries during the attempt to escape at 7.30 last night.
Restaurant worker Shamir Muhammad, 32, said he heard a woman's voice shouting for help.
"When I rushed out, I saw the woman, who was at first using a rope to come down, suddenly jump from the third floor. I only managed to prevent her from hitting the wall," he told reporters here.
The woman, who is being treated at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, said she had just arrived in Malaysia to work as a cleaner and claimed that her employer had confined her after confiscating her mobile phone and passport.
