Three criminals shot dead this morning

Police found a pistol, tools believed to have been used for break-ins and two machetes in the car.

KUALA LANGAT: Police shot dead three foreign criminals after an exchange of fire near Jalan Klang-Banting early this morning.

Selangor police deputy chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said police were still hunting for two other members of the gang who escaped into nearby bushes.

The gang was believed to be actively involved in burglary cases in several areas in the state.

He said in the 4.30am incident, police on patrol came across a Toyota Vios driven in a suspicious manner. Police had earlier received information on break-in incidents from the public living around the area.

"On realising the police's presence, the suspects attempted to flee and sped off but the car crashed along Jalan Klang-Banting.

"While getting out of the vehicle, a suspect fired a shot towards the police and police returned fire hitting three of the five suspects," he told reporters at the scene here today.

Abd Rahim said the three suspects, aged between 25 to 35 years, died on the spot. Police checks revealed the car involved was reported stolen in Subang Jaya last year.

Police also found a pistol, tools believed to have been used for break-ins and two machetes in the car.
