KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian undergraduate, studying at the Padjadjaran University in Bandung, was believed to have been abducted before she was gang raped by three men in a car.

The girl was left by the suspects in an unconscious state at a car park some 40 kilometres from where she was taken last Saturday, according to Indonesian newsportal detik.com.

The police said that the girl had reported the matter stating that the three men had raped her.

"They took turns. The only one who did not do it was the driver," Cimahi police chief Erwin Kurniawan told detik.com on Tuesday.

The report also stated that the student was still in trauma and is being treated at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung.

The same portal had confirmed the identity of the student with Padjadjaran University, which had reportedly informed the matter to authorities here in Malaysia as well as the victim's family.

The family of the victim is reportedly in Indonesia already.

According to police, initial investigations found that the student was said to have gone out to withdraw money from an ATM machine not far from her rented house in the Jatinangor campus.

The student was reportedly called upon by an unknown male, who covered her mouth and pulled her into a car.

The police are now awaiting the medical report by the doctors in Hasan Sadikin Hospital.
