All eight teenage victims found


SEGAMAT: The bodies of all eight teenagers feared drowned at Sungai Muar near Buluh Kasap, Segamat have finally been found.

This matter was confirmed by Johor Fire and Rescue Operation deputy director, Mohd Rizal Buang.

In this latest development, the search and rescue operation had stopped around 3.30pm today.

Rizal said, as many as 131 fire and rescue members were involved in the operation which included diving teams, RELA, the K-9 unit, police and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue department.

The incident was believed to have taken place when 13 friends were out having fun at a recreational spot.

After swimming, eight of them took a walk along the river bank when one individual slipped and fell.

The seven others who had tried to help also slipped and drowned.

All eight victims were reported to come from Taman Mewah.
