Kawasaki refreshes its Z1000 range, launches automatic scooter

At the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA), Kawasaki will present the next generation of its Z1000 maxi-roadster, designed to embody the Japanese principle of 'Sugomi,' or the intense aura and energy surrounding a powerful person or object.

The brand will also officially present the J300, a scooter designed for both urban and open road rides. Finally, Kawasaki will showcase the latest edition of its KX85 motocross bike.

Powered by a 1,043cc engine with 142hp, the 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 has a new and improved braking system, including monoblock radial-mount calipers paired with a redesigned ABS pump.

The bike's front fork has been reconfigured to offer better handling and driving feel, resulting in better control both on the open road and in urban settings. Finally, the manufacturer has equipped this model with LED lights for the first time.

Also on display at the Kawasaki stand in Milan, the J300 scooter is powered by an entirely automatic 299cc single-cylinder engine.

With standard ABS and adjustable rear suspension settings to accommodate different passenger configurations, the scooter is designed to offer optimum handling in the city or on the highway.

In addition, the J300's brake handles can be adjusted to fit hands of any size, and passengers enjoy the added comfort of motorcycle-style footrests.

Finally, aspiring motocross pilots can also admire the KX85, Kawasaki's motocross bike slated for launch in small and big wheel versions in 2014 with engines that are 20 percent more powerful.

The 71st International Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA) is open November 7-10, 2013.
