Johnson's "Lore" gets new director

Warner Bros. replaces "Men In Black" director Barry Sonnenfeld with low budget film director David Green to direct the fantasy flick "Lore".

The move is reportedly motivated by disagreements between Warner Bros. and Sonnenfeld regarding the projects budget.

Still vesting some interest in the project, Warner Bros. tapped director David Green, who recently made his directorial debut with the low-budget Disney flick "Echo", to helm the project.

The sci-fi action film, with a script by Corry Goodman and Jeremy Lott, tells a world where a secret society of 'shepherd' has held the line on the encroachment of mythical creatures. When the line of succession is broken in modern days, a reluctant hero finds herself shouldering the responsibility of stopping the creatures return.

Warner Bros. picked up the project in April 2012 and tapped Barry Sonnenfeld for the film. As Sonnenfeld will now step down as director, he will remain involved as executive producer. Pending a shooting schedule, Dwayne Johnson is booked to star in the film but it is unclear which character he is to play in the film.

This is not the only film the "Fast and Furious 6" star has in the works. Johnson is currently in shooting for "Hercules: The Thracian Wars" under the direction of "Rush Hour" director Brett Ratner and is also expected to reprise his role in "Fast and Furious 7."
