Pahang royal couple cook for flood victims

KUANTAN (Dec 26): Puan Tengku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Sultan Iskandar helped to cook meals when visiting flood victims sheltered at Sekolah Kebangsaan Galing here yesterday evening.

Her husband, Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and several volunteers including chef Mat Musa Mansor, 36, helped out. Tengku Azizah said she was moved to help after seeing the plight of the flood victims, who we evacuated to the relief centre on Monday.

"I saw they (victims) appeared to be overwhelmed by the situation and decided to help out. I am glad I was able to do my bit," she told reporters.

Tengku Azizah helped cook chicken curry, "gulai sardin", fried chicken and fish and a cabbage dish which were served as dinner to some 200 victims sheltered there.

One of the victims, Azizul Ghazali, 25, said the royal couple's visit brought much relief to the victims and that Tengku Puan's cooking was very good. - Bernama
