It’s the time of the year again to rate the Car of the Year in Japan, last year it was huge news that the Mazda Demio, better known to us as the Mazda2 received the crown. This year, Mazda had kept up the momentum and once again take home the crown, only this time it is the Mazda Roadster (known to us as the MX-5) that received top honours.
The all-new Roadster was launched in last year and it was officially introduced to our country in October 2015. It is the sixth model in Mazda’s new generation vehicle line-up to come complete with the full range of Skyactiv Technology and Kodo-Soul of Motion design with the aim of pure Jinba ittai driving fun.
Lightweight, open-top two-seater front-engine rear-wheel drive configuration has garnered a lot of love from people all over the world. We’ve already spotted a few grazing our roads since the launch a few months ago. Congratulations to Mazda Co. We wonder what next for the company?
