RAMANAN: My blind loyalty led me to executing any orders entrusted to me.
KUALA LUMPUR: Former MIC treasurer general, Datuk R. Ramanan claims that the party is also governed by its President, Datuk Seri G.Palanivel's wife, reported The Malaysian Insider.
Ramanan said he has also received orders from Datin Seri R. Kanagam when he served the party as its treasurer-general.
The former Central Working Committee (CWC) member also labelled Kanagam as the party’s actual ‘president’ for intervening in its internal affairs.
“My blind loyalty led to my executing all orders which were entrusted to me. I have received orders from both sides – the president and the ‘husband’,” Ramanan was quoted as saying by The Malaysian Insider.
News portal, Malaysian Insider also reported Ramanan as saying that the Registrar of Societies (RoS) has ordered MIC to conduct fresh elections for its 23 CWC and the three vice-president positions within 90 days following an alleged misconduct and breach of party constitution and Society Act.
He added that RoS will not entertain any pleas from MIC.
“RoS stated that the explanation provided in a previous letter was sufficient and no other letters would be entertained from MIC,” said Ramanan during a press conference held at the MIC headquarters, here, today.
Palanivel had earlier delivered a letter to RoS requesting for an extension of time for the re-election.
However, Ramanan said the letter delivered by Palanivel was confusing as it did not state a clear standing.
“From an MIC source, the letter in its first paragraph had requested for an extension of 120 days for corrections (mistakes). With that, he ether pleads guilty or agreed to the letter.
“But later admitted of not committing any mistakes and that the letter was not an admission. Can that be? No. State your ground,” said Ramanan.
