Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the test on Sample B belonging to the athlete will be done on Nov 4 or 5.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) today confirmed that its athlete failed a doping test in an international tournament recently, The Star reported.
This was announced by BAM deputy president Datuk Norza Zakaria, after an extraordinary meeting to discuss the matter.
According to the daily, Norza at a press conference after the meeting today, declined to reveal the name of the athlete until the results of Sample B is out.
Yesterday, the Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the test on Sample B belonging to the athlete will be done on Nov 4 or 5.
He said the athlete was given an option by the international sports association involved to choose between those two dates.
The athlete’s name will only be confirmed after Sample B result is out.
