Christian Benteke nets as Aston Villa beat Tottenham

Christian Benteke scored the only goal of the game as Aston Villa eased their relegation fears with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Villa move up to 15th in the Premier League table, six points clear of the drop zone, as Tim Sherwood took all three points on his first return to his former club since his sacking last summer.

The on-form Benteke scored the only goal of the game, his fifth in eight days, on 35 minutes with a sharp header from Leandro Bacuna's inviting cross from the right, but Villa boss Sherwood deserves credit for winning the tactical battle, with Gabriel Agbonlahor a constant threat to a flat-footed Tottenham defence on the counter-attack.

The home side just couldn't get a foothold on the game, with Christian Eriksen ineffective on the left and 29-goal Harry Kane starved of service.

Villa showed intelligent game management in the final fifteen minutes as Tottenham tempers began to fray, but it was the visitors who ended the match with ten men after midfield rock Carlos Sanchez was shown a second yellow card, a sending-off that will rule him out of Villa's FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool next weekend.

Jaguar F-Type Project 7: 2 out of 250 coming to Malaysia

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has announced that two units of the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 will be available for Malaysian buyers. The first Jaguar performance vehicle from JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations team, only 250 units of the Project 7 will be hand-built in England. 

The Jaguar F-Type Project 7 made its debut at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The roadster pays tribute to one of the most famous and iconic racing Jaguars: the three-time Le Mans winning D-type, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The ‘7’ in the name pays homage to Jaguar’s seven outright Le Mans wins.

The fastest and most powerful production Jaguar ever built is motivated by Coventry’s 5.0 litre supercharged V8, now in 575 PS/680 Nm form (25 PS over the RM1.16m F-Type R Coupe). That’s enough for the all-aluminium-bodied Jag (1,585 kg) to do the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed auto and second-gen Electronic Active Differential. Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes (398 mm front and 380 mm rear discs, six- and four-piston monobloc calipers), available as an option on the F-Type R Coupe, are standard here.

Also included is Torque Vectoring by Braking which, working in conjunction with the diff, enables “extremely precise handling”. Bespoke carbon-fibre aero aids and a unique suspension set-up also contribute to the cause. Jaguar says that this car generates 177% more downforce than an F-Type Convertible at 300 km/h.

The windscreen length is reduced by 114 mm, reducing overall height by 30.5 mm, with new side windows to match the profile. A specially designed “Bimini roof” clips on to the convertible header rail, and can be folded and stowed in the boot, which offers 196 litres of space.
